Nick is right as far as I recall. Chuck has the USB

version of colorforth that was distributed by Jeff Fox.
If not already
known to you, that version shipped with unexpected
corruption, which
in turn was corrected by Josh Grahms at :

Hello, Ray! Good to have you back and to know that you
are coping with diabetes.
Yes, I am using Josh's chuck05, downloaded from the site
you mention above, with help from Josh to install the
version for 16bit color. It boots reliably, and one
can use block 60 to format new floppies; thus becoming
independent of other OS. I would like to boot from USB
or other flash mem device, because spinning discs (even
CDs) tend to be erratic on my system when the mains
supply is noisy.

You simply have to share this with me. I'd love to have
ChuckBot include sound.
..... I'd love to read your code.

Nick again:

If you want to see the code for my synth project, please
supply an address to receive a bootable floppy by snail
mail. Because it is so long since I used any other OS
for coding that I've forgotten how to convert CF to
email files.

But if you want to make music with my code, you will
need to install the same 10 MHz parallel DAC board
($100 from Analog Devices) plus a PCI parallel printer
port. Normal soundcards use 40kHz serial DAC. The
whole point of Colorforth, for my project, is that it
enabled me to break out of the AC'97 + MIDI
straitjacket, and implement unconventional ideas in a
practical fashion because CF is so fast, versatile and
close to the hardware. For normal music making I
would be delighted to see a post explaining how to
implement block 66 (for AC-97 audio) in your
distribution with Tim:
