To use VGA you'll need to redraw the character set for smaller characters.

To use hard disk, you'll need to define a contiguous file of plentiful size.
Perhaps a whole disk. Defragmenter makes files contiguous. Then find the
file's location or write a directory search utility.

It's a nice development project. But with computer costs so low, I question
the value of using older computers.
