I came across some interesting articles on Charles Hamblin:
http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/%7Epeter/hamblin.html
http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~peter/this-month/this-month-3-030303.html
He was the orignator of reverse polish notation and aparently the dual
stack machine as is referenced in Chris Bailey's thesis:
http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~chrisb/main.ps
Hamblin created a language called GEORGE (General Order Generator) which
used RPN notation.
I have no idea how close GEORGE is to Forth, it would be interesting to
get hold some of these documents.
