I'm very glad to see this mailing list start up.
I ordered an MuP21 Kit and an extra CPU a few days ago. I have
a number of projects I _must_ finish before I will free to
do much with the MuP21, however.
Several years ago, I worked some with the RTX2001, even putting
a predecessor of Pygmy Forth on it.
I would enjoy hearing any details about MuP21 and any software,
documentation, etc. that may be available via ftp, plus any
details about the F21, P8, etc.
The P8 sounds very interesting.
Currently, I work with the 68HC11 (usually the 'E1 version in a
52-pin PLCC with 512 bytes RAM and 512 bytes EPROM). It is
available surplus for about $3 each. Fancier versions of the 'HC11
seem generally unavailable without long delays (so I gather from
reading an 'HC11 mailing list). The PIC "RISC-like" processor also
seems to be hot these days, but my feeling is it isn't as good as
the 'HC11. I mention these other chips, because they seem to be in
the category the P8 would fall into. One very nice feature the 'HC11
has is its boot loader, allowing you to download a program to the
chip's on-board RAM via a serial port. Anyway, I'm wondering about the
P8 and how it will compare.
I'm mainly posting to welcome myself to the list and say hello to
everyone.
