There are - I've been running a p90 clone for about 3 months. The first
board was flakey and was replaced. Sometimes the keyboard wouldn't work and
I replaced it too. Now it seems happy. The cpu came with a fan/heatsink and
it's fine.
And yes I'd be willing to pre-buy some f21s, I really only need one for
starters but would be prepared to buy more if it helps things along. What
hasn't been addressed is what if the first chips are buggy? Do they have to
be %100 up to spec before they're sale-able? I wouldn't mind having one chip
that needs a few workarounds but that's probably all.
Of the 150 people on the list how many are prepared to actively help things
along. I am if I can find the time.
How can we help? I'm reasonably experienced at pcb layout stuff if that helps.
There was some talk of putting a f21 card in a pc. Most of the
micro-controller systems I've designed hang off a serial port (or transputer
link adaptor) and the mirco uses the pc's keyboard, vdu and disks via a
packet based protocol I dreamt up. It not perfect - the server in written in
C and a bit ugly. Anyhow if it's of any use I'm happy to put it into the PD.
Any other offers???
Eddie.
