I have ordered all of Dr. Ting's More on Forth Engines from Vol. 13 to 19. I
have also ordered the Mup21 Programming Manual. I don't have any problems if I
write a clear letter and include a check. Mail delivery is usually prompt. Of
course, I live in the U.S., so maybe that prevents the problems others have
experienced. I agree it would be nice to phone in an order with a credit card,
but it is not reasonable to expect that kind of service from a such a small
operation, IMO.
I like Offete Enterprises for it does well and accept its limitations. Kind of
like programming in Forth! :) I hope that MISC technology will support several
vendors in the future. I also hope Jeff Fox doesn't burn out before the F21 is
finished.
Regarding the 1-bit return instruction for the P32, could it be that Chuck is
thinking of a "Repeat this fetched group of 6 instructions" operation for very
fast (but tiny) loops? As I recall, something like that was proposed or
implemented in ShBoom, Chuck's 32-bit predecessor to Mup21. If so, then the
normal ; instruction is still needed. Can anyone who attended the SVFIG
presentation comment on this?
