I just wanted to let everyone know what I have found out. I was having
trouble with
the serial communications between my host PC and the kit. It would
respond intermittently, and usually only accept a few characters before
it quit responding. I finally got the word SLOW in before it hung up and
the RS232 communications became stable and reliable. I have temporarily
removed the 14.39Mhz clock (the video clock) and now i can communicate
easily, with no problems. I guess the video clock can interfere with
the RS232 communications. Obviously at some point I will need to reinstall
teh clock, but for now it seems to be a good work-around for stable
communications with the board.
