Dirk is right. He gets credit for causing ether-ip-udp to exist. As I
recall, he asked to be able to backup colorForth blocks across Ethernet. The
$1,000 was to change my priorities and write such code. Sadly, it didn't
cover the actual cost of writing some 6 blocks of code.
He sent me 2 kinds of ethernet cards. I started on the wrong one (Murphy
again) and couldn't figure how to run it. I guess I got documentation for
the other - this was several years ago?
I've started on PPP several times, but haven't even written any code.
Priorities again. TCP will be easy, as you can see from the UDP code. And
UDP needs to assemble packets in order to handle web pages. It works fine
for 1K blocks, which was the intent.
Same with www.colorForth.com. Lots of changes I want to make, but all my
creative time is spent designing the new chip. Which will be fantastic.
Don't make me an obstacle in the road of progress. Someone should write a
browser/email. I'm sure there will be more than one. It's not hard. Just
start simple.
